Board of Ed
The Plainedge Board of Education consists of seven residents who are elected by the people and serve without salary for a three-year term of office.
The Board of Education sets policy: that is, direction for the students, staff, and educational programs of our school district. The Board meets on the second Tuesday and Thursday of each month during the school year. Tuesday is the Public Work Session, and this meeting begins at 8:00 PM in the Central Office Conference Room. Thursday is the Business Meeting, which begins at 8:00 PM in the Board Room at Plainedge High School, 241 Wyngate Drive. All of these meetings are open to the public unless the Board is discussing an individual employee, negotiating, discussing matters of potential litigation, or other topics which the law provides should be discussed in executive session. All other topics are discussed in public session and it is our hope that residents will attend and actively participate in our meetings.
Information about our Board members including their email addresses, as well as our Board calendar, the current monthly agendas, and the minutes of the Public Work Sessions and the Business Meetings for the current school year are posted through the links below.
If you need any other information about the Board of Education, please call the District Clerk at 992-7451.
