Schools
The Plainedge Union Free School District is located in Nassau County, New York. The district is comprised of five schools: three elementary schools—John H. West, Eastplain, and Charles E. Schwarting—a middle school, Plainedge Middle School, and a high school, Plainedge High School.
The Superintendent is Edward A. Salina, Jr., Ed.D., Tonie McDonald is the assistant superintendent for business and administration, and Todd Winch is the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. The district's Board of Education is currently comprised of President Catherine Flanagan, Vice President Maryann Capone, and trustees Debra Grieci, Dennis Gustafson, Mary Lowe, and Douglas Pascarella.
The principals of the elementary schools are Emily O'Brien (Eastplain), Carol Muscarella (John H. West) and Bethanne McCoy (Schwarting). Anthony DeRiso is the principal at Plainedge Middle School, and Robert Amster is the principal at Plainedge High School.
