2009 Pride Survey

On March 3, 2010, Superintendent Chris P’Simer and members of the Plainedge Schools administration presented an eye-opening review of the results of the Plainedge Schools 2009 PRIDE Survey.  The survey features results from the Plainedge elementary, middle and high schools (5th grade through 12th grade).  Questions included: How old were you when you first used alcohol? Tobacco? Marijuana? Where and when do you use alcohol? Tobacco? Marijuana? Do your friends use?

Schools have been using PRIDE Surveys since 1982 to gather data about alcohol, tobacco and drug use. In 1998 a federal law designated Pride Surveys as an official measurement of adolescent drug use in America, and more than 10 million students, parents, and faculty members have responded to Pride Surveys.  Results are completely confidential and tabulated by an independent party, so students answer honestly.  The results paint a picture that every parent should see.
